Jabiru J-170 Completion
The Club recently completed the assembly of a Jabiru J-170 light sports aircraft, which is an Australian designed aircraft utilizing a Rotax engine that uses motor gas. Assembly of the aircraft was initially started by PolyU, but work on the project stopped during recent social unrest followed by COVID. The Club took over project last year, together with La Salle College students. We completed the assignment in early March 2022 and successfully ran the engine.
The aircraft is now on display at La Salle College for two months after celebrating their 90th anniversary during mid-May. The aircraft will then be permanently on display at the Aviation Club and used for projects involving other schools and students.
